A Word for the Road: Own the Conversation

Earlier this week, we hosted our WSAA Pre-Game Webinar, built around this month’s theme: Own the Conversation.

And one of the most interesting things we learned had nothing to do with a product announcement.

When we asked our audience whether they were attending WSAA, most said they weren’t.

And yet, they showed up for the Pre-Game.

Maybe that tells us something important.

You don’t have to be at the show to be part
of the conversation.

Whether you are able to meet with us in person, or not, our team is available to you at any time to provide the information you need to make your business a success.

Because the real value of an industry event isn’t only what happens on the trade-show floor. It’s what the industry is thinking about, questioning, building toward — and what all of us can learn from it.

So, What Are We Listening For?

Looking at this year’s WSAA conversation, a few themes stand out.

What’s real — and what’s hype?

AI, digital assets, wallets and embedded commerce aren’t exactly new words anymore. The conversation is becoming less about whether these technologies exist and more about where they create real, sustainable value.

What does it mean to be more than a reseller?

The conversation is shifting toward becoming a true platform partner— bringing software, hardware, payments and services together around what the merchant actually needs.

And how do we grow without losing the relationship?

Sales enablement matters. Value-added services matter. So do trust, retention, risk, and transparency. Growth is important, but the strongest portfolios aren’t simply chasing every opportunity — they’re choosing where and how to grow.

If you look at the conversations happening across the regional shows this year, there’s a progression.

Modernize > Scale > Own the Conversation.

The industry isn’t just talking about transformation anymore.

It’s talking about leadership.

And leadership requires knowing what you bring to the conversation.

What We’re Bringing to the Conversation

For Dejavoo, there’s a lot to talk about.

Our ecosystem gives partners different ways to approach different merchants: DvPay for a proven direct-to-host environment, iPOSpays for omni-commerce and integration, and DejaPayPro for starter and micro merchants who need a practical POS solution with room to grow.

One partner. Three paths. Growth on your terms.

But some of the most interesting conversations may come from what’s happening around those platforms.

AI is moving from the talking stage into the working stage.

AI-assisted merchant onboarding is coming soon to iPOSpays, designed to make VAR-sheet onboarding smoother. We’re also developing AI-assisted integration tools for ISVs, with the goal of helping move integrations from timelines measured in weeks or months toward days.

Unattended is getting more flexible.

Our Flex Unattended Solution brings together payments, device management and connectivity options. And the upcoming QD3 UPT Mini and Pro are designed for environments ranging from EV charging and parking to car washes, kiosks and smart vending.

The payment conversation itself is getting wider.

ACH, crypto, digital wallets, and other alternative payment methods are creating more ways for partners to meet merchants where their customers want to pay.

And sometimes innovation isn’t about adding another payment method at all.

It’s about giving partners more control.

The iPOSpays Command & Communication Center can push commands or communications to a single terminal or an entire portfolio in real time — helping teams act instead of simply waiting on a support ticket.

That’s the point.

More technology should ultimately create better conversations about solving real business problems.

Don’t Forget to Bring Something Back

We want them to show what we’ve built.

But we also want them to come back with something.

  • What question did you hear five times?
  • What was everyone suddenly talking about?
  • What problem keeps coming up?
  • What did someone ask for that made you think, we should look at that?
  • What did you learn that the rest of us should know?

Because owning the conversation doesn’t mean doing all the talking.

Sometimes it means listening well enough to bring the conversation home.

Do you want to meet up with a member of our team at WSAA?

One Last Word Before You Go

Before the team left, we caught Daniel Zenou and Mony Zenou for one final message.

Daniel’s advice was simple:

“Don’t forget to enjoy the sun while you’re having fun.”

“Don’t forget to enjoy the sun while you’re having fun.”

We intend to hold the team to that one.

But before WSAA, we also asked our CEO, Mony Zenou, what he wanted the team to carry with them into the show.

His message:

“Go and show the latest and best of our offering, our technology, and our vision.”

“Go and show the latest and best of our offering, our technology, and our vision.”

And when we asked what he would say directly to the WSAA audience, he gave us something even more important:

“Pay attention to the up-and-coming new products and services that we are offering, because we are thinking about how to make your life easier, your sale easier, and your support easier. That’s our purpose.”

“Pay attention to the up-and-coming new products and services that we are offering, because we are thinking about how to make your life easier, your sale easier, and your support easier. That’s our purpose.”

That’s the part worth carrying with us.

Because behind everything we’re bringing to WSAA — the technology, the integrations, the products, the services and everything still coming — there should always be a reason for it.

  • Does it make doing business easier?
  • Does it give our partners another way to sell?
  • Does it make supporting their merchants better?
  • Does it help them grow?

That’s the conversation Mony is asking us to have.

And maybe that’s the best word for the road.

To Ron, Barath, Larry and Jenn:

Show them what we’ve built.

Show them where we’re going.

But more importantly, find out where they’re going.

Ask good questions. Listen to what’s changing. Meet someone new.

Bring something back.

Take Daniel’s advice and enjoy a little sunshine along the way.

And when someone stops at Booth #116 and asks:

“So, what’s new at Dejavoo?”

“So, what’s new at Dejavoo?”

You’ll have plenty to talk about.

Where you take the conversation from there is up to you.

Own it.
