Today, iPOSpays is a comprehensive solution streamlining operations for businesses of all sizes through powerful features that include CloudPOS (Virtual Terminal,) Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android, hosted payment page, automated recurring payments, payment links, and enterprise grade secure payment infrastructure, including,

We sat down with Venkat to learn how Dejavoo’s Omni-Commerce Gateway came to life, how it has evolved over the years, and where it’s headed next.

Venkat, would you tell us a bit about your background and what you did before you joined Dejavoo?
I am an engineer by education; I learned on the job, mostly by getting my hands dirty building things. I started as a programmer, then I trained developers and supported products. Eventually, I built a huge merchant portfolio in emerging markets and had a successful exit.
How did the development of iPOSpays begin?
It all started with the trust Mony placed in me when I pitched him on what we could do together. He welcomed me as a partner and gave me freedom to execute. I had the full support of his management team. They welcomed me with open arms and big hearts, and then we all gave it our best.
What was the early concept and who was the target market?
Small to mid-size ISOs who needed a custom solution. Typically, given their size, they could not demand this from the big players. Dejavoo has always been there for them.
How did iPOSpays evolve? We almost couldn’t keep up with all the new feature releases.
We follow the principle of developing MVP first and then keep adding new features. In the last 5 years, we have built a formidable product using our global development team.
What does the future look like for iPOSpays?
This will become a powerful frontend gateway for the ISO community. The omni-commerce experience we will offer will be unmatched in the Industry. Small ISOs will be given all the ammunition they need to survive and keep their American dream alive.
What are your thoughts on the 20th anniversary of Dejavoo? Where will Dejavoo be in the next 10 to 20 years?
We dream 10 years out, plan for the next 5 years, and execute for today. We have to watch how AI will change the payments landscape. Agentic commerce will be a force to reckon with.
Players like Square, now called Block, are entering the ISO space. There will be more fun.
