In POS Settings under the Checkout section, you can configure what the tips will be calculated from.

Subtotal = item price + price for modifiers and options
Total = Subtotal + taxes

Let’s take a sale with item which has price $10.43 (with modifiers) - that’ll be subtotal.

  • Summing it up with taxes will give you the Total.

Subtotal is $10.43, Total is $10.90. Go to checkout screen. Add 10% tips. If tips counting from Subtotal it’ll be $1.04.

If tips counting from Total it’ll be $1.09.
